How to Upload GIFs to Facebook

There’s a good chance that you’ve seen a GIF that someone else has posted up on your feed, and you have felt confused – because you have no idea how they were able to do that.

Facebook right now doesn’t support the ability to upload GIFs directly, but there is a secret way to make sure that you can still use all of your favorite GIFs.

Let’s check it out.

How to Get Your GIF on Facebook

There is a tool called Giphy – it’s free and it can be used to easily share GIFs on your Facebook.

All you have to do to use it is log in on their website, and in the top right hand corner of their homepage, you’ll see a tab that says ‘upload’. Once you’ve clicked on this, you can browse and select the GIF you’d like to upload.

  • Tumblr

Once you’ve uploaded your GIF to Giphy, you then get the option of sharing it onto different social media channels, like facebook. You’ll find the little Facebook icon on the right hand side of the page.

GIFs are getting more and more popular, as more and more people interact with each other through social media. It’s a nice medium between a video and a photo – something short and sweet that doesn’t necessarily need noise to convey its message.

If you want to keep up with your friends on Facebook, and you’ve always wanted to know how they are sharing GIFs, well, now you can upload your own GIF collection.
