If you’re smart about your online activity, you’ll use a proxy with everything.
Not only does it keep you anonymous, but it also secures your personal information and data when using often unsecured networks.
The key to using a proxy is to figure out which companies out there you can trust, and which ones you can’t. That’s where this SquidProxies review comes in handy.
SquidProxies Review
Unfortunately, there are definitely some that we recommend you stay away from, and we always remind our readers never to use free proxies.
Let’s give SquidProxies a review, and see how they compare to the rest of the industry.
What is SquidProxies?
SquidProxies is a private proxy service that has been in the industry for seven years now.
Needless to say, we don’t think that they’ve got enough experience under their belt to be able to offer their clients expert assistance.
Just like with any other proxy company out there, SquidProxies.com come with their advantages and disadvantages.
Let’s review them fully and figure out if any of the negatives are dealbreakers or not.
Pros and Cons
- Secure payment system to protect your information
- HTTP and HTTPs are both supported
- Doesn’t support SOCKS proxies
- Doesn’t have flexible package options
- Doesn’t come with a trial period
- Can’t refresh IP addresses with shared proxies
- Limited authentication of IPs
- Customer service questionable
- Limited money-back guarantee
So, while Squidproxies do have a few things that can be considered positives, we don’t think that they’re worth your time.
There are many companies out there that don’t support all proxy types, but we think that Squidproxies could do better.
Pricing
When it comes to Squidproxies pricing, we think that they’re a bit on the cheap side – especially when you compare them to other companies in the industry. Their cheapest proxy package is $100, and this gets you 100 proxies.
The one thing that you need to know about Squidproxies is that they specialize in private proxies, so if this is the type of proxy you’re after, this is what you’ll get.
They have 10 private proxies available for $24, which is definitely on the cheap side of things by comparison. Again, if you want a lot of proxies, their largest private proxy package is 2000 for $1500.
One of many issues surrounding Squidproxies system of selling proxies is that there’s no way to test them out beforehand – you just have to trust that they are good quality.
As we mentioned in the pros and cons list above, they have a seven-day money-back guarantee, so if you’re not satisfied with the quality of the proxies you received, you can expect to get a limited return of your money.
Again, we don’t think this is good enough.
Locations of Proxies
Squidproxies have spread themselves out in terms of their proxy locations, which is the bare minimum.
They have data centers located in Australia, Asia, Europe, and the USA, but we think that they could do better.
Squidproxies Packages
One thing that we really don’t like about Squidproxies is that they only offer two different packages.
As a proxy company, this is extremely limiting, and you only get to choose from shared proxies and private proxies.
They have a specific target of marketers, so unless you are in marketing and are looking for dedicated and shared proxies for marketing, then these guys aren’t going to be that much use.
They say that they offer their clients unlimited bandwidth, as well as high anonymity but if the quality of their proxies isn’t that great, then we don’t really see how they can do this.
Another thing to note here is that they don’t provide their clients with specialized packages for specific purposes.
Most companies do because they know that the majority of the time people are going to be using proxies for specific tasks, so this generic approach that they have for their features as cause for concern.
Network Performance
Squidproxies of course claim that they offer their clients a quick connection, but we believe that when it comes to their connection, we think that you can do better elsewhere.
Customers have said that they have come across errors when it comes to their services, and despite the fact that they guarantee that their private proxies will meet your satisfaction, we don’t think that this is the case.
When it comes to their shared proxies, they are a lot less likely to work, and they don’t offer the guarantee that they are going to meet your satisfaction.
This means that you have to end up upgrading to their private proxy options so that you can maximize your value, so unless you are wanting to do this, we don’t think that it’s worth it.
At the end of the day, you need to be able to trust a company at all levels of their features, so the fact that you have to upgrade from the very beginning is a red flag.
Server Locations
Squidproxies offer a number of different locations with their proxies around the world, including America and Europe, China, and India.
However, there is no guarantee that their shared and private proxies are going to work the same in all of these locations, and there’s definitely no evidence of this that they provide potential clients.
The other thing that we don’t really like is that if you want to choose a specific location for your proxies, you will need to submit a ticket once you have checked out.
This is because if you don’t specify your particular location, they are going to randomly allocate you proxies, and these are going to be based on the United States.
You won’t be able to get the locations that you need, and you could end up waiting for quite a long time once you have submitted your ticket.
Customer Support
Squidproxies claim to offer their clients customer support around the clock, but we are always suspicious of companies that offer a ticketing approach when it comes to their support.
Not only do you have to submit a ticket to get the proxy that you need based on location, but you also have to submit a ticket if you want to get customer support.
Again, this just means that you are more than likely going to be waiting a long time to receive the support that you need, and the only other option when it comes to their customer assistance is through email.
Again, email is another sign that you are going to be waiting a while for a response, so we imagine that things are going to end up pretty frustrating if you come across a technical issue.
On a side note, when it comes to their website, we don’t think that it is the most user-friendly website we have been on, and we think that it is relatively complicated to navigate.
We believe that they have put too much effort into their website and need to scale it back if they want to attract customers.
Payment
Squidproxies claim to offer their clients most major forms of payment, including being able to check out with your credit card, MasterCard, Bitcoin, and PayPal.
Of course, it is good that they offer this kind of variety when it comes to their payment methods, you just need to be careful when it comes to the encryption of their web pages.
There is no guarantee that they have completely encrypted everything, so if you do choose to pay your way outside of PayPal, which is the safest way to pay online, just know that it comes with a risk.
Security
Of course, we all know that the point of using a proxy is to be secure and anonymous in your Internet activity, so this is a pretty important factor we need to consider when reviewing a company like this.
As we mentioned, their private proxies might hold a decent level of security, but we can’t say the same of their shared proxies.
Considering the fact that you need to enter a ticket to get the location that you need with your private proxies, we aren’t even confident in the security of their private proxies, and we also don’t like that the company has an IP-based authentication system; it would be much more secure if they required a username and password.
How Did Squidproxies go in Tests?
Squidproxies didn’t do that great in the tests that we gave it, and we also thought that we didn’t receive the kind of customer support that we needed.
Of course, we paid for their basic features, and entered our ticket so that we could get a proxy outside of America.
We are disappointed to say that we had to wait quite a while to receive our proxies, and when we did, they didn’t get it rotated nearly as often as we expected.
The long and short of it is that their proxies performed badly in tests, which doesn’t bode well for our experience with them long term.

FAQs
What is a Proxy?
A proxy is an IP address or a server that you use instead of the one that is associated with your computer.
This is so you can bypass any restrictions that have been placed on your IP address, or so that you can execute online activity anonymously, including data scraping.
What’s the Difference Between Private and Shared Proxies?
Private proxies are only used by one person, while a shared proxy means that you share the IP address that you’re on with many other people at the same time.
Obviously, a private proxy is going to be more secure in terms of your data.
Review Verdict
As you can see, there’s a lot to be concerned about when it comes to SquidProxies.
Perhaps the thing that we are concerned the most about with this proxy company is that they’ve been in this business for a while now.
This means that they should have the experience and know-how to provide their clients with high-quality proxies, however, they don’t.
When compared to other proxy providers we have reviewed, we think that SquidProxies is not worth your time and money.
