The attractive thing about Fiverr as a buyer is that you can find most types of online services (stuff like logo creation is great on this platform!) offered on Fiverr are charged at a fixed rate of $5.
This has opened opportunities for freelancers to showcase their talent and has made many aspects of creating an online business more affordable.
Other services found on there include article writing and translation, photography, music and audio, and link building (not recommended!).
If you’ve got an idea for something to sell, then Fiverr could be the right platform to get started. Here’s the process:
Step 1 – Create an account on Fiverr – which is absolutely free.
Step 2 – The listings on Fiverr are known as “gigs”. Start by listing all the services that you wish to sell on Fiverr with all the details and descriptions of your services or products.
Step 3 – Make your Gig “live” – and you might just be lucky to get in your first order quite quickly. Make sure to communicate with your buyer as soon as you receive that order. Good feedback on your first few orders is absolutely essential for building a good reputation.
Step 4 – Once you complete the order and the buyer has approved it – it will be shown as “Complete”.
Step 5 – You can withdraw your funds from your account 14 days after the time you completed the order.

Gives you freedom and flexibility
One of the good things about Fiverr is that they have a whole marketplace of people already looking for your services – so in many ways they take out the hard work of finding clients, and sometimes they might become repeat clients that you can upsell more expensive or recurring services to.
Gigs start at $5. It’s not much but if you think volume then it might be. You can also have higher priced gigs as well. Having set prices on your initial gigs saves you the hassle of the negotiating process too – you set the price and buyers decide whether they want to go ahead with it or not.
Fiverr takes responsibility of payment collection on your behalf and pays it to you once the process is completed and approved. It’s basically an escrow service.
No upfront investment required
There is no upfront cost involved in participating on the Fiverr website both for the buyers and sellers. It’s completely hassle-free as the only things which are really required is a computer, an Internet connection, and an idea of what you want to sell.
Huge demand for sellers
Almost 75% of demand for services on Fiverr comes from buyers who own small enterprises which are usually niche ones – who most of the time require similar services. Website creation, logo design services, blog writing and photography are never going to go out of demand.

Using the step-by-step guide, you can learn about different kinds of gigs, the process of communicating with your customers and some of the tricks to get better visibility for your gigs. The site is pretty simple and user-friendly – it’s easy to navigate quickly. The backend takes a little more time to master, but in the grand scheme of things it’s not difficult.

Do your research properly
Most new sellers face a similar predicament – what do you sell on Fiverr and what if no-one buys it?
The first thing to do is to look at what is on the market already. Choose 2-3 of your strongest skills, and browse through the corresponding categories to get an idea of what’s on offer already. Can you offer something similar? Something better? Something different completely?
Take a look at the most popular gigs and see what it is is they are doing so well. Depending on the gig it could be different things, perhaps its quality, perhaps its value. Perhaps it’s speed of delivery. Maybe you could offer all 3?
Create your Gig
I’m not going to give a step by step guide for this because you can read in-depth tutorials on the Fiverr Academy or Podcast that I mentioned earlier.
Ensure you select the appropriate category for your gig. That might sound obvious, but I see gigs in the wrong categories all the time.
Keep your gig description clear and concise so that buyers know exactly what you’re offering and what to expect from you. Being clear here saves you confusion later down the road. Trust me on this one.
Keyword research
By including keywords in the right places you will not only appear higher on Fiverr search results, but you may well end up appearing on Google as well! If you can make this happen then you are sitting on a gold mine.

Use relevant images
…or video appropriate to your gig. These could be animations, videos, cartoons, photographs, diagrams, or even testimonials to convince buyers.
TIP: Upload images of some of your best work onto your Fiverr gig so that you can showcase your work.
Ideas for Things to Sell on Fiverr
What should you sell on Fiverr?
Well that’s the million dollar question 😉 Only you can answer this. It will depend on your skills and situation. But here’s a few ideas.
Create eBooks and reports
One of the best ways to make money on Fiverr is to create a report or e-book which can be sold over and over again. As long as you have the copyright to your work and don’t allow resale rights to others, it could be a great income source because it requires no repeat effort from yourself. Passive income.
Cropping and altering images
If you have good Photoshop skills, then you could make some serious money with Fiverr if you’re able to work fast. There is always a great demand for this type of work as small companies may not have the staff to carry out tasks like this.
Logo design and creation
This ones a no brainer because everyone else is already doing it. So if you’re not especially talented then you should give this a miss. If you are great at logo design then go for it. Charge $5 for the initial image, and then heavily upsell extras like further revisions, transparency, image rights etc. I see people on there all the time getting $50-100 for a logo. If you can do 1 an hour then that’s some good cash.
Write reviews for customers and products
If you’re a good writer who can quickly churn out a 500 words review in 5-20 minutes, it could be a great opportunity to provide your services on Fiverr. You can charge $5-25+ for this depending on your writing skill level and turnaround time. Most companies dealing with consumer products require great reviews to sell their products.
Write content articles
This follows on from the last one – all websites require content. If you’re good at writing articles about any topic that is given to you then you can easily sell this service. There’s always people looking for quality writers.
Some Fiverr Alternatives
If for some reason you don’t like fiverr or are finding it tough to make an impact, here’s some other platforms I’ve tried.
Content Hourlies
I actually use Content Hourlies on a daily basis. The reason I like this platform is because it’s extremely heavily moderated – if a piece of bad content comes through you can just message support and they will ban that writer. They sell custom content and PBN links –
and the prices are reasonable.
If you can type fast then you can definitely make some quick money writing for them. I’ve referred a few friends recently to this platform who were looking for remote work.
Konker.io
As well as recommending good products, I also think it’s important to report negative experiences as well.
I don’t recommend Konker. You’ll see other digital marketers peddling this platform – and the sole reason for that is because it has an affiliate program.
This platform kinda sucks if I’m totally honest. It’s buggy and weird things happen. E.g. my last order disappeared completely and I didn’t even get a notification or a refund. At the time of writing this, I have a PayPal dispute open with them!

The main thing that holds people back on Fiverr is procrastination.
